Need a New Daypack - Suggestions?

Post by nchunterkw »

I'm one of those guys who carries way too much stuff afield. I've been using a Pack put out by the North American Hunting Club for many tears but now it's about done. Looking for suggestions on a new one.

Keith, I'm using a Cabalas all day transporter bag. I've used it the last 3 years its a extremely large fanny. I was able to carry a range finder , bi pod, water, jacket/ rain gear, socks, meds, field cleaning kit, etc.. I found it worked well for those 10 mile hikes on the elk hunt and what didn't fit I didn't need. :D

This looks very interesting and good reviews on Amazon - AND only $50 at amazon with free shipping. Figure I can at least get it and see if it will work. Truth is that should carry WAY more than you need and I just take too much extra crap.

Here is another smaller pack. Works well for short hunts.

I just picked up a spot-n-stalk pack a couple of weeks ago from the sportsman's guide for 39.99$ with free shipping in the U.S. and went over and picked it up, since I ordered a few things from different places across the pond. so far I like it but no real world use yet, just around the house. can't wait to actually start using it next month. seems like a well built pack with lots of storage and easy to get into it without removing from back, just swing it around and you have full access.

I really like this one!! You can attach your crossbow to the back on morning walks in the dark. Carries plenty of gear too!!

My buddy At Bison Gear makes the best hunting packs out there. Not cheap but you'll only ever need one unless you lose it.

Badlands T2200. It's big for a day pack but I just don't fill it. It's always with me when I'm in the woods. The quality can't be beat.

I have approximately 2 mile hikes to my stands. I carry all my outer layers in my pack so I don't overheat on the way in.

I just picked up a Badlands Diablo Dos. Have not used it yet
but it has great capacity and pockets just where I need them. I will be using it in November when it gets colder.
