Hog Down

My brother just shot this nasty old porker. It fell in it's tracks. It doesn't look like he spined it so I'm surprised it fell in it's tracks. Any thoughts???

Hard to tell, but the angle looks like it could have nipped the spine with a large enough head, but hey, no tracking! :wink: Nice job, and congrats!

Nice hog ....I need a change from deer hunting

The verdict is in.The Muzzy missed the spine but it buried deep in the shoulder blade. I think I recall a discussion on this forum that several folks have had the same results with deer when they were hit hard in the shoulder blade.

Congrats on the hog!!! ..and yes I think he did spine it. If you look up the kill zone on a pig, you will see that the spine does not go straight from it's back to its neck, it dips down a bit right about where the arrow is. There is also a big scapula there.
