new owner of a micro 335

Post by michigan »

camo model, got it two weeks ago. Wonderful bow! Shot over chrono tonight, 319, 319, 321 and 319 for 4 shots with stock quill bolts, stock string and the included 150gr. field points. I need to reset the brace height already after maybe 50 shots or so. So, going to order the stringing tool and see if just adding a couple twists in each end will bring it back into spec.

Your speeds are very good considering your shooting right at a 400 grain arrow vrs: a 350 grn. test arrow.

Excals seem to loose about 1 fps for each 3 grains above the 350 grains weight of the test arrow.
Checking my math you are loosing very close to 18 fps as a result of a 50 grain increase in arrow weight... bring the speed into 317 Fps. range..... I am getting that also and am very pleased with that performance.

Congrats, and you got a good performing bow there. You only need to twist one end of the string.

thanks for the tip on twisting the string. Always hunted with a vertical compound for the past 28 years and left the tuning to the archery shop since I had no bow press. Really nice to be able to work on my own bow now and not have to worry about cam timing, rest adjustments etc. but sounds like I better read up a bit.

:D What is the spec. on brace height for Micro 335, All I could ever get from their tech support was a 1/4" from the rubber bumpers on REDS, I don't like measuring to a movable object. I love my Micro so far... had it three days. Made my own bolts from Pro 22 Gold Tips with 110 gr brass inserts and alum flat nocks with 100 grain points arrow weighs right at 378 gr and will shoot 2" groups at 60 yards off of a steady rest. Imagine what it'll do off of a bench and sand bags.

I keep my Micro set so the front of the string is just behind the line scribed on the rail. Mine is a Gen 1. Not sure the Gen 2 has a line on the rail or not. If not, set your BH to where you want it, then mark the side of your rail with something like white paint or something as a reference you can be accurate with
