Let the matrix fill the freezer tonight.

Post by Square_hammer »

Got a nice little five point buck this evening. About 2 years old I would say, some great eating as far as I'm concerned. Pics to follow shortly just have to upload them to photo bucket. Oh ya this is my first archery deer. Hit it a little lower than I was aiming but still clipped the bottom of his heart and some lung. He only went 50 yards if that.

The back leg stopped my bolt from a complete pass through. I like the cutting diameter of the rages but still not sold on mechanicals. I may spend some time this fall trying some fixed heads. I am using the stock 18" Diablo bolts, my zombies are in the mail big thanks Don, and 125 grain rage extreme. I want to try the exodus heads next.

Looks like a pile of venison there for sure. A big buck is nice, but too few and far between. I would be happy with that deer every year. Great job.

Congrats! That mechanical looks like trash now, not going to use that one again. Get yourself a good fixed head with replaceable blades such as G5 Striker. My son had complete pass through on his moose with one few weeks ago, was still razor sharp and perfect - right back in quiver. We shoot a number of hogs with them and all we ever need is packs of replacement blades if damaged.

......way to go square_hammer....am very curious is that your hunting vehicle behind you in the second image   ....all kidding aside great job, nice buck and it is always the sweetest with the first archery deer....

.....taking a look at that Rage is the reason why I got rid of shooting mine never to return again....if you like mechanicals I strongly suggest the NAP products and the Spitfires specifically!

.....again, one big thumbs up and wishing you many more!
