Thanks to a well known trouble maker

Post by Boo »

I sent 3 bows out for anodizing and I'm pleased with the results!
The black Micro is a 315 will 3 sides of the mainframe and the riser anodized in type III.
The one in the middle is a 405 with the top of the mainframe and riser anodized in type III.
The one on the far side is a Matrix 355 with a 310 riser, anodized on all 3 sides in type II and a Y25 stock.
Thank you Paul! :D

I got my 405 mainframe done in black, now I stare at the other ones hanging on the wall, just wishing I'd have done them all at the same time. Pictures don't do it justice, that finish on the topside is like a sheet of glass. Water beads and runs off it. And Paul can attest to the durability of the finish, a type 3 anodized riser can survive a 4ft free fall on concrete completely unscathed

In non-technical terms, type III has higher wear resistance than type II because it is roughly twice as thick. Forget the word hardness or hard coating. Any thin coating is only as hard as the substrate that is being coated. So if you could anodize a sponge, it won't be hard.
