We have a forum member on here that makes a beautiful grunt call but I've not seen him advertising on the trading post lately so he might not be making them . Maybe somebody with more information than me will chime in .

Re: On the way to hunt Maine. Grunt call suggestions?
I haven't made any for sale so far this year, so haven't had any in the trading post.
The company that made the laminates I used is out of business (had a fire), and I would have to use natural wood for calls. I didn't have much demand for natural wood in the past, so I haven't been making them this year.
I do have one laminate call left over from last year, though.
If interested you can email me and I can send you a picture of it.

I go on another site called Theoutdoorsmensvoice. There is a guy that makes great calls. If interested it Koble calls. They are made out of all different kinds of woods. Check him out you won't be disappointed.

I'm sure that there are grunt tubes, and then there are grunt tubes! I was using a Knight&Hale Magnum when I hunted in Maine, and it's what I use here in Pa.
When one came in behind me up in Maine and grunted, I thought, gee that sounded exactly like my grunt tube. They can be extended and cupped with your hand to produce varying tone grunts, and just like people, I'm sure a grunt from different deer can vary.
Just something to think about, I know guys that grunt only with their mouths.
Just thinking, don't you guys from Vermont drive the logging roads, check tracks in fresh snow, step in them if under 3" long so you know you checked them, and when you do find a huge track get on it and track it until you catch up to it, big deer make big tracks!
You need to hunt with the Benoit's and forget about the grunt tube!
