I didn't get Excaliburs (380 & 405) and then do virtually every possible upgrade to them IOT replace them. I viewed and view Excalibur as a very long term purchase. I really like the performance of the original 380 & 405. That stated, I also like the BD400's feel. It's gentle. It's compact. Has slightly more speed (5'/sec) than the M380. The new limb mounting appears to put less stress on the limbs: obviously, since with the same limbs and 0.1" longer stroke than the 405, it has 15-20'/sec less velocity than the M405.
So new models can come out, and my models will go from current models to vintage models. When new compound Xbow models come out, the current models become obsolete, and often(my Strykeforce which was only 2 years old) and no longer supported.

Do the Matrix and Bull Dog models take the same limbs?

I like the bd design but holding one doesn't fell "good" enough to make me want to switch for $1000 Especially with addition trigger linkage. I'm afraid if they switch to just a bd design that they may further alienate customers like they did to the traditional stock folks when they switched to the matrix style.

But im sure they have done their homework
