First archery deer and first euro mount

Hi guys, just wanted to share a pic of my first euro mount. I did it with the 5 point I shot this year, my first archery deer. So here it is

What technique did you use? You use a knife? Boil it? Pressure wash it? What is the purpose of baking it?

I used a knife and boiled it. Then boiled it some more. Then boiled it some more. I just had it on the baking sheet in case there was any whitening agent left on it.

I don't think I would still have a wife if I tried it in her spam or pots lol. It was bad enough that I had the head in the deep freeze for a few weeks till.i had time to work with it.

Yes I did. My neighbor owns a hair salon so she gave me some 40 percent whitener, the stuff they use for making hair blonde. I made it into a paste and painted the whole skull. Then I wrapped it in plastic wrap and left it on top of the fridge overnight.

That is the way to do it. I have some 80% but it is wicked stuff and not much fun to use and it's no good for making blondes :mrgreen:
