controlled hunt buck

Post by one shot scott »

Deer season in Ontario has been a bit rough but I have been putting in my hours. I was fortunate enough to have been able to sit tonight although I felt I was getting out a bit on the late side. 4:00.

about 5;10 I heard a deer blow at me. wind in my face and the noise came from behind. I swung around in the 2 man ladder stand to see this buck bounding away. I rested the 870 on the shooting rest and waited for him to stop to make a shot. Just when I thought he wouldn't give me that he stopped and turned broadside to see if anything was giving chase. When he did I sent one down his way at approx. 60-80y. heart shot, he took one, maybe two more steps and dropped.

what a night! I am very, very happy to have him but I am just a tiny bit sad to say I didn't shoot him with my 'bur

Wow! What a gorgeous buck! I always prefer archery equipment but I tell you what, regardless of how I shot a deer like that you'd be hard pressed to slap the grin off my face! :D Very nice indeed.
