I find, when I kill a really good buck, the drag out doesn't seem too bad. I guess because of the excitement and knowing it is a worthwhile buck. They all kick my butt though. :-) Killed a big one this year and had to drag him about 500 yards, through two creeks with 6' banks. I dragged 30 yards, stopped for a few, dragged some more. I was ringing wet when I got him to the road.
Congrats on a fine buck. He's a beauty.

I had to drag one out of a pretty deep valley this morning with no help so out came my game cart. I will not gut a deer where they fall unless they run off the trails so he was not gutted when I hauled him out.
