Un-string a Recurve for Off Season

I have way too much time in the stand. Got to thinking (dangerous) does it make sense to remove the string on a re-curve for off season storage? Don't see where relaxing the limbs can hurt.

When I bought my first Excalibur (black Vixen) that was the recommendation Bill T. suggested. If it was going to be stored for a long period of time, take the string off.
I have a Phoenix now, and still follow that advice. But I also have two friends who use a Phoenix model that never un-string their bows, and it doesn't seem to hurt them.

Agree. I don't think leaving it strung hurts it (I do) but there's certainly no harm unstringing it. Just set your brace height about three eights of an inch higher when you put the string back on as it'll settle back in.

Always take mine off. Took the string off Monday afternoon after I returned from hunting camp. Will put it back on next September before the season starts up again.

I don't have air brakes or anything else that might complicate the process. So easy to do, so I do it.

Is there any specific procedures to removing the string with Air Brakes? I was going to remove the 4 bolts per brake then cock the bow using the stringing aid. Then remove the 4 rubber pads and string then let the bow down. Sound correct?

Yup. Remove the pads then remove the string. That easy. You may also want to use a twist tie so secure the string loops together so you have a starting point when you 're string your bow.
