Arrow setup?

Post by Predator55 »

I put together some new bolts and just looking to see if anybody sees a problem with the set up. Shooting a grizzly cub with the matrix string, have some 2219 lites cut to 17 inch, shaft by itself is 183 gr. don't have a scale but I figure with insert and aluminium flat nock and blazer vanes add another 70 gr? so total is 253, I want to shoot montes 125's giving me a total of 378. Anyone see any issues with this setup? Thanks"

That total weight should be fine.

I have shot 2219s for years they are awsome. The 125s will shoot ok . But you will never get the full potential of the shaft of you dont use a 150 grain or above head even excaliber designed the boltcutter as a 150 grain head for the alluminum bolt back in the day. If you use a 125grain and add the extra weight of a luma nock on back then you really get out of foc. Use a boltcutter or 150 slick trick or any 150 broadhead you will get way better 30 yard plus acuracy trust me. Unfortunately there is really no brass insert for the 2219 dont worry about the shaft weight thats fine the foc is a bigger worry.out of a cub i would use 2216s anyway they have plenty of spine and a lighter grains per inch that will get you more foc i shoot 2216s out of my 330 . I would ditch the alluminum nock also and go plastic (easier on string and lighter )

2219 weighs 13.8 grains per inch. That is 235 grains for the shaft only.70 grains is close for nock, insert, and vanes. Now you're at 305 without the broadhead

I see no trouble usin the 2219's, any weight combo you put together from 350gr to 450gr will be great. Jus dial in n go to it

What is a 2219 lite? I've only seen them described as 2219 Magnums.
