#5 Takes A Dive

Post by nchunterkw »

Was blessed to take another deer last night in a light drizzle. This was a "neighborhood" deer so no real great story to tell, other than it was a nice 25 yd shot, double lunged, RamCat blew through and looks brand new, and she went about 70 yds. She will definitely go to help feed hungry people.

My buddy lives in the neighborhood and is fed up with the deer eating every piece of landscaping they have. His next door neighbor feels the same way. Come to find out that the next house down "likes to see the deer" so they are putting corn out for the deer. They should have some interesting conversation at their neighborhood Christmas party. :D

Must be nice ! I have one tag and have passed on 11 deer so far since Oct1st as the season goes until Dec 31st and there are some nice bucks around that I am still hoping to get a crack at . It would have been nice to put a couple does in the freezer but apparently the poulation is too low around here LOL.
Congrats on the deer !

I've never seen fat on a deer like this one. Literally like 2" thick on the rump and backside. Even more fat than the corn fed 7 point I shot in Wisconsin.

I didn't get any pics of this deer. Didn't want to draw any more attention to anything going on in this residential area. But with that drizzle, I was glad I used a RamCat as the blood was good....I knew the shot was good so I followed within 5 min, and even then the blood trail was being washed away some. Would have been all the tougher with less blood on the ground. But the Primos Blood Hunter light helped make quick work again.
