Long season ends

Post by longbow joe »

Image[/URL] Got out this weekend and took a young hunter with me he got a nice doe with the shotgun. And l took a small 7 with the 335 l passed up much bigger bucks during the season during my quest for a trophy l waited long enough im not a cold weather treestand sitter. I was hoping the buck would have veered left to my young friend but it came my way at a trott and a zombie with a cabellas lazer strike 2 made a 20 yard recovery possible. The day was saved when my little buddy shot. ...quite a lot of times with his buckshot twelve guage and got a nice doe. I gotta teach him that its not about turning the deer into a wattering can . And try to aim at the "front"of the deer. Lol lbj

You sound almost apologetic about that nice 7 pointer. Be happy, that is a fine deer, you made a good shot and recovered it in a short distance. congratulations!

Congrats man.

My deer season is done as well. I have plenty of meat and now look forward to other wintertime activities...

Sorry for the ungreatfull impression. I am happy with the buck l was letting a lot of bigger bucks pass and when the very quick rut this year ended the big deer did a vanishing act . I guess lm kicking myself in the rear for being mr picky. In the end you cant eat the horns .l honestly miss the good old days when a forkhorn got me near buck fever that ls what i crave l guess i just wanna go "holly sh#### when l see a big one coming in lve gotten spoiled .
