Worlds Fastest Crossbow!

Anyone remember when Excalibur was advertised as the worlds fastest crossbow? I'm thinking mid 80's? Any thoughts?

That sounds about right. I was beginning to think I was the only one that did. I remember seeing their ads in the back of Field & Stream and thinking man how I'd LOVE to have one of those! Thanks for the reply Mike!

You knowed that were the days before i ever had a pc. You would read mags to see anything new that had come around. It was in 96 i got disabled n got my 1st Excal an old 96 E'cet 165

Those sure were the good old days! I still would rather look at a magazine than a computer screen any day! Some would say I'm old school. Maybe I am but that's the way I like it! My first Excal didn't come along till 2012 after 30 years of vertical compounds and recurves shooting and 3 hand surgeries.

....Now that is a classic in every sense of the word! .....I wonder if there is any other crossbow out there that has withstood the test of time of 30 years.....jumping jehosifers....I wasn't even 30 years old when the Wolverine hit the market!

If memory servers me right it was 250 fps with a min. 400 grain arrow.
