Photo Hosting Sites

Post by 8ptbuk »

I've got aggravated with Photo bucket lately and was wondering if anyone could suggest a host that works better. Thanks

What problems are you having? I have had a little trouble getting on a few times but think they got that fixed as it has not happened in a while. Otherwise it is working good on my end.

Photobucket sold out to advertisers. You can do any type of action without a pop up showing up. And if you are working on a cell or tablet they layout is the spits.

I had the problem with pop ups and going slow.I got ad blocker plus for free and that took care of the problem.

Yes the Ads are a pain, they get 100,000 ppl to pay them that .99 every yr n they are in the money!. Photobucket is very slow, specially when you have to dig thru yer pic's to post one. I have used imageshack it was ok, haven;t used it in a yr. So i don't knowed if'en they have improved or not

I would like to see the forum self host pictures like some other forums I am on. That way they don't get lost over time behind the cute kitten picture...

Also I would love to see some Captcha or some admin intervention on new members to reduce spammers like most sites do!

Thanks guys for the suggestions, To me the ads have got Alot worse and all that trying to load in the back ground really slows me down, I have slow internet and can't up grade due to my location. Would be nice to upload straight from the device !

I couldn't get onto Photobucket a few weeks ago, so I searched and found UltraIMG.com. It works a lot like Photobucket with a lot less of the ads. I'm not sure I've seen any actually. I may use it exclusively going forward.

Once you upload a photo, click Embed Codes and it will show all of the ways to link to the picture. I use the Image URL under Direct Links and paste it between the Img tags on this site.

Go look at ad block plus. It is free and works very well.
