Bear Hunt

Post by [email protected] »

Looking to do a bear hunt at Cooper Camp in north Quebec in the spring. This means a new bow. I like the suppressor but need some input. I have the Mocro 315 and love it. Any ideas?

Sounds like you need a 380 or 400BD.

I agree, that bear only went 20 feet and died after perfect shot placement.

I took my first Bear with a Vortex and stock arrows with NAP Spitfire Max 125 grain. I now shoot a Micro 335. The xbow you have should have no problem taking a Bear with it. It's all in placement of the shot and nerves. Good luck

No question a Micro will get the job done on a black bear if you do your part.

Yup, but I have since updated the riser with a Gen 2 that isn't camo-dipped.

One is never enough and 3 are too many. I am thinking of just building a micro 355 to what i like or take the suppressor, I'll keep the 315 but want another one.

31 bears in 2 groups driving with 5 micro 335 bows in groups and no lost bears this season using g5 montecs, spitfires, slick tricks were points ...Many more bears also with crossbows by other hunters but I do not have count some were also in gun season which you can use bow or gun.
not sure of total count for 1 week or so on bear count bow/gun I think it was over 230 bears in my area ..

3 bears were 400/475 lbs on scale last year 1 was 585 lbs in my area ..

we were down this season on bear totals last year over 250 bears for bear week ..

You bow should be fine heck my buddies use compound bows on bears also ....

The short story longer is I finally bought a suppressor. I loved the Raid but figured my 315 was as deadly. A friend is getting into crossbow and I have been lecturing him on the benefits of the Excalibur. We went to Woody's in Robesonia PA and both walked out with Suppressors. They had the Raid and Matrix Bulldog there so we could compare. I braved the cold and did a few shots with the Suppressor today and what a thrill. Quiet and fast but the trigger sux. I may have to upgrade that.Woodys gave us a good price and I highly recommend them
