C-2 Crank

Post by Mark Rainbolt »

I was wondering when using the crank if you need to stop for some reason in the middle of cranking can you stop? I have very bad shoulders and sometimes I must stop doing whatever I am into. Thank you for your time and answers.

There is a spoil brake that you have have engaged to make it work so you can stop any time you need to. When you get it cocked with the crank you disengage the brake to pull crank string out from the spoil and remove the crank . It is a mini winch . I use one

O.T. But I was wandering Mark, do you ever hunt around the (Keysville Tower) ?
I used to hunt there around the 1970,s used to camp next to the tower, would spend the whole gun season there, lots of good memories, me and the boys would bathe in the Huzah river,(very cold) is the town still there ?

You can cock it silently with the brake off or noisily with it on. You need to hold it well if you use it w/o the brake. I rarely use the break, even with the 405.

What Sew said.
I always keep the brake off the C2 when I am cocking so I can hear the trigger engage. The clicking sound of the brake makes it hard for me to hear this happen, so I do it on silent mode.
I do find using the brake helpful however when using the stringer adjustment, since I can stop the C2 when the limbs are flexed back far enough for the string to be relaxed enough to be removed and twisted.
Be safe in all cases and keep your hands outside the area above the bow rail at all times when cocking the bow.
