plastic dipped stirrup anyone?

Post by Ontario Savage »

Just wondering has anyone dipped their stirrup in that plastic coating stuff? I guess it would be the same as wrapping with the tennis tape and it looks like that's what they did on the suppressor to quiet things down so wondering if it's been done?

I did it to two of my magtip bows. I do think it took some of the ringing sound out best i can remember now all these years later, but it definitely wasnt an amazing change. I mainly like.to put something on the stirrup to keep from scratching it up on rocks, etc when cocking the bow.

Some cork gasket material between riser and stirrup works better.

I took mine to the local Bedliner shop for a coating of Rhino truck bed liner and traded a couple venison steaks for the work and material.

In a can, the do it yourself home spray-on Undercoating works great too.

I second a gasket strip between the riser and stirrup, old rubber inner tube works perfectly.

I slipped an O ring over the bolt between the riser and stirrup and then wrap the stirrup with Sims comfort tech grip wrap ( $9.99 eBay ) i've also seen a fellow use flex spray, The one advertised on TV. Jefro

I'm was not impressed with the nice shiny 75-80% dipped stirrup on my Suppressor. I have since wrapped rubber splicing tape over their dip to cover 100% of the stirrup. This provided the sound/vibration isolation required between the riser & stirrup. So the bow shoots quieter, with less after shot vibration.
