Noisy trigger system

New member to this forum, so please bear with me.
I bought my first (and only) crossbow in 2012, the Eclipse XT from Cabelas. Could not have been happier with its accuracy and ease of use. Took an 8 point buck at 33 yds in 2014, and was surprised at how much the deer turned in reaction to my shot. Hit was too far back, but I found him after 150yds. Took a 10 point buck in 2015, 23 yds, and the same thing happened. Deer violently jumped at my shot, BEFORE arrow hit. Again, hit too far back, but recovered after 50 yards. On Friday, dec 30, 2016, I attempted a 33 yd shot at a doe from an elevated tree stand. She spun on my shot, arrow passed through, but I never recovered the deer after waiting 1 1/2 hours before starting the track.
I've discovered the noise my bow makes results from the release of the trigger, NOT from string/arrow movement. Can this be cured?

I may be wrong but when you say the noise that the trigger makes . Sounds like to me the catch rubber is missing if there is a loud noise upon release . Get it looked at if that is the case .

I doubt a noisy trigger is responsible for your three miss-hits over the years. Especially at 23 yards, with the speed you're shooting, there is no way a deer has a chance to "violently jump before the arrow hits" even on a highly alert deer. Send the trigger in for repair but stop blaming the bow. Maybe it's time to brush up on your shooting, that would be my honest advice.

I have a noisy unquiet Equinox wth virtually no sound suppression. I have tagged out with it six consecutive years. I'm a walk and stalker and have shot many fully alert deer. None jumped the string. I'm wondering if your safety is the culprit. Some are pretty noisy with a audible click. I would suggest that you have someone stand to the side and listen to your shooting routine to help you isolate any odd noises before the trigger is actually pulled. Your Eclipse is a fairly fast bow that should blow through any animal before it becomes aware of the shot noise. Good luck and keep us informed. Most of us really enjoy solving these little problems for newbies. It's part of our charm don't cha know. Dont get frustrated and we will help you through this. Happy New Year.

P.S One trick I've learned is to aim a little lower. That way if the deer does bunch, the shot will still hit the boiler room. As an added bonus, the blood trail will start much sooner than a higher shot.

I know that the safety isn't an issue on my Eclipse, because it makes no noise, plus I have already moved it to "fire" well before taking the shot. Accuracy isn't an issue either, at least out to 50 yds, which is further than I would ever consider a shot. It's not like I can shoot at targets great, but when it has "hair on it" I get buck fever. I'm 71 years old and have taken 50+ whitetails over the years, with compounds, centerfire rifles, shotguns, muzzleloaders, handguns, and lately, crossbow.
I spoke with customer service at Excalibur yesterday, was given an "RMA," and will be sending my bow in for repairs/correction. They were very helpful and I'm hoping this will solve the issue.

Bows are xpensive to ship. Do you know how to pull the trigger out? It will be a lot cheaper to only send it in.

All the bucks I got 49 total if they were alert they jumped.Some at 15 yards or less jumped and I missed..THIS WAS WITH A QUITE FRED BEAR RECURVE BOW WITH CEDAR ARROWS..

So to say deer cannot jump with crossbow I am not sure of that...I have not got Buck with my Micro yet so I will see what happens but Ionly take broadside shots and non alert Buck..

Sent my bow (minus limbs and scope) to an Excalibur dealer in Pennsylvania yesterday. Shipping cost was only 12 bucks, which included insurance. I'm cautiously optimistic that my bow will be less noisy when I get it back!

Well, I got my crossbow back from the repair shop in Pennsylvania. I reattached the scope and limbs and was anxious to see what difference there would be in the noise issue. It appeared to me that the trigger had been replaced, but there was no written report on what had been done, nor had I ever got a phone call from the tech, as I had requested. I haven't shot the bow yet (Winter in Michigan), but I have used the rope cocking aid to uncock the bow. Seems to still make a loud noise when the trigger is pulled, even though the string doesn't move since I'm holding it back. I've watched the dvd Excalibur sent with my Eclipse when I bought it. They show a few "hunting scenes" of their bows in the field. I sure wish mine was as quiet as the ones featured in their video!

when you uncock the bow it will still have pressure on the latches. They all are loud when you uncock them this way. you may think the string doesnt move but unless you are holding the full weight (pulling back and string is not touching the latches) it will move and be loud.

Why don't you call them to find out what was done?

It will sound even LOUDER when uncocking indoors.
