New micro 335 string issues

Hi there,brand new to forum,just purchased micro 335 nightmare at Christmas..
I live on Vancouver Island
I have read a lot of posts and appreciate the knowledge on this forum.
I am a bit frustrated with stock string issues, serving started to fray and had big claw marks in it ,not many shots either, you all have read this many times,
I called Excalibur and service said they have had no string issues ,my store rep claims the same
My question is are all the Excalibur strings not that good, did I have a bad string?
Or do I have to order a string from Boo who seems real busy and I am on the West Coast
One mor Quetion ,is the twilight dlx scope have better clarity than the dead zone
Everyone has also commented on the blurry view from the dead zone no matter what they adjust eyepiece to focus on(crosshairs or target)
Hate joining a forum to bitch and whine, but I am very frustrated, not worth having a bow you can't practice with because string wears out so fast

Sorry. Your experience is not normal. The factory strings are generally quite good. Possibly the string retention prongs could have a bur, whatever. Or the rail. Is your string waxed? Did you use any wax on the serving? Some do, some don't, concerning the serving. Pictures might help. Your actual name is not Joe, is it?

Hey thanks,used wax on string and Excalibur rail lube, not a lot, I looked for burrs and so did my dealer,
Why would Excalibur claim no issues when there is?

My dealer reserved string and it only lasted 25 shots, I need a new string,trying to get dealer to give me a new stock string, but that is like pulling teeth

What he said. Without examining your bow, it's going to be a guess. However, that's so often the solution you really should start there.

Ok read his webpage,will get some sandpaper and go over it.
Is it worth just going with the stock string again?
Also had scope question on clarity of twilight dlx scope compared to dead zone

sorry I can't help you with your scope problem as I an not familiar with that scope . on both of my bows I have the Redfield revenge and like them a lot. wide field of view and good low light.

Most Dealers don't have the proper serving or string jigs to do the job right . I suggest you learn how to serve your own strings, Easy to learn and very satisfying to do it yourself ! Plenty of help here to be had for the asking !

Would suggest you pursue it further with Excalibur.
You should not have to replace your string after so few shots.
Technically this may indeed not be a string issue.
It is most likely a rough / burred etc... claw ( s ) or other surface the serving comes in contact with.
Considering your micro is so new as I see it Excalibur should come good for a replacement if a contact surface is not up to par with what should be expected from a Newly Purchased Micro 335.
However that said if there is a serving surface contact issue thats the cause then you can change / reserve your crossbow string until you are blue in the face and the end result will still be the same.
Premature serving failure!
Until you determine the actual cause?

Rest assured you are not the first to have this problem.

Take Vixenmaster up on his offer. He makes a great string. But do polish the latches before putting the new string on or the rough latches will just do it again and I will be willing to bet it is not a string issue and is a latch issue. Very common problem.

String issues are not really all that common. If your string just shows indents from the trigger claws in the serving that is 100% normal and does not mean the string is worn. These crossbows are holding a lot of weight so impressions in the serving are normal. If it is actually tearing the serving there could be a couple of causes.

Make sure the string is twisted in a counter clockwise direction when adjusting, going clockwise will loosen the serving resulting in premature serving separation.

Burrs on trigger claws are pretty rare these days as we spend a lot of time tumbling them in a polishing machine. It is still possible but not likely however you can polish them with a fine emery cloth to confirm.

Don't over wax the serving, too much wax will soak into the serving and result in premature separation.

Check rear arrow inserts from sharp nicks from where other arrows have hit them, they will cut a serving pretty quickly, this is real common.
