Custom Weave Para-cord Sling:

Clings to my camo jacket quite nicely. Like the extra width.
And of course in an emergency, I got a lot of rope in my hands...

Cheers,

Nope, I ain't that talented!

I have a Buddy who makes these both for crossbows & rifles.
He'll put whatever swivels you want on them, and has several styles to choose from.
Although he is a tad busy just now, he may still be taking orders...

If you're interested shoot me a pm and I'll pass along his contact info...

Cheers,
Nog

Looks great, I plan on making myself one, I like messing around with Paracod. I was hoping it was you who made it, so I could ask you what weave that is. Its looks like a double king cobra. If you see your buddy, can u ask for me?

I am currently using a Cabelas crossbow sling mounted on a side mounted sling stud. This was my first season using it. It takes a little tinkering to get it adjusted right.

The side sling mount isn't an original idea. IIRC it was Boo's or Moons over on AT. Not sure which.

The biggest advantage of a sling is using it has a "Hasty sling" to help stabilize the crossbow when shooting offhan:

Here is the cobra that I made for the Lynx...The white is actually Glow-in-the-Dark because I use it for night predator hunting.

Image

I made it so I can carry my bow in front like an M60 by a S-Biner that clips into an eye-bolt in my riser hole and a solid ring braided into the sling...the back is a snug stirrup fit over the stock.

The sling will double as a "normal" sling by clipping the S-Biners into heavy key-rings on the sling studs. I just carry the rings and an extra S-Biner in my pack.

The Nite-Ize are real nice clips and can be attached anywhere on the para-cord ...and yes I have to un-clip to fire....but is works real fast and quiet.

For tight timber I just twist the bow vertical and it still hangs hands-free and perfectly secure.....Yes it is a challenge to stay out of the Triangle-of-Pain when carrying cocked and loaded. And truthfully I probably ignore this EXTREME safety violation more than I should. It is also very important that you don't sweep anyone if you are hunting with a partner and carrying in this manner.

With all that being said...I carried my bow this way LOTSSSSS or miles while elk and wolf hunting, and it works very well!!.

I don't do much walking but do have one on one of my koda's. It nothing special but gets the job done. This one is too nice to use and the only one I've ever seen. I always wanted to show it off. I guess now is good.
