For those that make mock scrapes.What scent do you use

I've not made a mock scrape in years, but I've had moderate success with Tinks 69.

It may sound strange but we urinate in the scrapes. After watching a program where a man poured buck scent in one spot ammonia in another and human urine in a third a buck came and buried his nose in the human scent. I harvested a nice ten point buck using this method

This! I saw that show also. The guys that supplied the urine made it a point to eat red meat and drink beer before they did the test. I was dumbfounded at the buck snorting up the stale beer urine. I have had deer sniff where I've taken a dump. I'm gonna call this the urinluck method.

Yes. I have a friend that conducted an experiment along these lines with human urine. He peed in gallon jugs for days and allowed the urine to sour. IIRC, the more pungent the better but I don't know how sour. I'll ask him.

But I do know for sure that deer were not only not spooked by human urine, the were actually attracted to it. He said he read a study that said there were common components in all urine and they couldn't tell the difference.

I've wondered if what attracts the deer to human urine is that they are expecting it to have the pheromones, etc that should be there from hot does and rutting bucks, so they are confused by the absence of what the expected to be there.

However, our mineral stations bring tons of Deer during off season and at night during season. To bad not during daylight.

I have made mock scrapes and peed in them and had bucks on video working the scrapes the same day they were made.

I run about six different drippers at my six best stands every year i use active scrape and reg. Doe pee i start off with a mock scrape.after a while the real deer usually take over . There not a silver bullit or anything but they definately do a positive thing.the deer are still scraping them even months after the rut .l retrieved a dripper the other day for the year that was all freshly tore up underneath

I go above and beyond. I use tarsal gland gel mixed with tinks powerbuck. I treat the licking branches with Code Blue rack rub. This combo has worked wonders for me. I have a camera set up and the pictures I get of bucks coming in and putting their scent all over my setup are unbelievable. This is what works for me.

Most in my area of pa just take leak in scrape made by a Buck and then set up their climber..Very few use any deer scent ..

Smokey's Pre orbital eye gland. If it's a good rut which only happens once every 6-8 yrs. Eye gland drip on branches what sells the deal. Check out his website I have got 4 nice bucks in Gibsonia Pa. Since I started using his Pre Orbital.
