How Many Bolts

How many Bolts do you folks take with you for a hunt and does the amount change with the game you're after?

I take 4 for deer hunting in the quiver, but have a box in the truck with about a dozen.

Same as exie above .4 on bow but more in the truck .we have all had arrow flinging days walking out with one or none arrows .....it happens or you havnt been hunting long enough. A coyote or two ....hit a tree or two ......etc. in nov.this year me n little vixen walked outa the woods with only one bolt...very expensive and humbling lol lve lost a dozen bolts goose hunting one day and came back with 3 geese.

I only bring enough bolts, all depends on how many nuts I am looking for.

Moose,deer and bear - 4 is plenty. Hogs I take 8 minimum, ran out with 4 more times than I care to repeat.

Same here norm I love those little quivers . The way mine mounts up top it's not much wider than the tax zone

6 better to have it and not need it than to need itand not have it as they say. Arrows don't weight much.

I try to carry 5 if I'm stalking the timber..one in the bow and the quiver loaded. I carry 4 broadheads and 1 roving point. This year it was SlickTricks and a RipTrick for the rover.

Seems that when things go bad...they usually go REAL bad!..

Shot 3 broadheads and went and gathered 2 of them up (lost one) and then shot all 4 remaining arrows into him again including the RipTrick
But I got him!


I guided hunters for too long to not carry enough ammo...the very LAME saying of " If I can't get it done in "x" then an extra 20 won't help" is BS!! Keep shooting!

I carry 3 in my quiver with BH's and one target tip in case of a wolf or coyote wandering through. With a target tip it passes through when you gut shoot them and they travel far enough before dying that nobody can figure out the area in which it was shot. Coyotes I will take a head or shoulder shot.
