Grizzly Done

Post by OldWolf »

My Grizzly is finally done. So far I added the BowJax to the string. I added shrink tubing and a BowJax to the arrow retainer. I wrapped the stirrup in rubber tape. I mounted the REDS. I added a camo cover on the scope. I refletched the Diablo arrows with Blazers using the Arizona Bolt. I added the Lumenoks.
Today my MM just arrived and I mounted it and my Kwikee 3 arrow quiver.( By the way Terry is a great guy and does nice work). I still have to shoot it some more and I want to chrono it.
I just wanted to say none, or almost none, of these mod idea's were my own. Most were found right here. Thanks !

Thanks for the compliments guys. :D
Now I have to get out and shoot it some more .. oh the burden !

I also want to chrono it as well. I'm figuring somewhere around 290 fps. I have the 418 grain Diablo's, 1 1/2 inch brace height and stock string.

I'm getting 280 fps with a 420.8 grain zombie, and an 8ptbuk flemish string on my Grizzly.

I guess I'm shooting for 280 fps then ! :)

I think my rifle/pistol club might have a chrono I could use. I'll check into it and try to get it done next week.

ThackMan how about a picture of yours ?

The old upgrade bug is upon you.

I have the same issue...lol

My Micro 315 upgrading is almost complete...:)

When you get her done you'll have to post some pictures.

Before I did any upgrades I did a lot of research .. mostly on here. I figured do it right the first time. All I wanted was a light weight, functional, relatively quiet, good looking and good shooting crossbow. I think I achieved that. :D

Thank you. :)

I have a stupid question. I've been out of the game for about 15 years due to an injury. I used to shoot and maintain my old Matthews Q2.
I've practiced, at home, using the rope cocker and no problems at all. I've also practiced using the stringing aid and again no problems.
My question is what if the string breaks ? If you adjust the stringing aid out to get it on the limbs and cock it using the rope cocker won't the distance from the limb tips be too far apart to get the string on ?
It's probably a simple method but I haven't figured it out. Thanks in advance !
