I have a 77 year old pair of Sear rubber boots not sure who made them for sears I have been using almost daily the bottom souls were replaced 3 times by a shoe maker never leaked in 77 years .

The rubber boots I have been wearing for years and I love them is Dicks Sporting goods brand. I wear the 1000 grams both early Archery and then into late winner. One thing I like about them is Dicks has a good warranty for them. I had a pair get a crack in them and they replaced them with know problems. I also wear them hunting pheasant and we do a lot of walking. They run about a hundred dollars.

After reading all the reviews from the great guys here and reading reviews online till my eyes hurt, I think I've settled on a pair of Lacrosse Aerohead Sport. I think they were new last year. The uppers are neoprene Realtree Extra 3,5 mil. Weight is 4.8 lbs per pair. They also make the same boot in 7 mil. For archery hunting here in Pa the 3.5 mil won't be as warm a boot as the 7 mil. I have a very warm pair of Irish Setter VaprTrek 1200 gram insulation to wear in colder weather. Read many great reviews of the Lacrosse boot. Best part and what probably made my mind up was the price. Every site I went to wanted $170.00 for the pair and after hours of searching I found the site Shoebuy .com. Their price was 169.95. they had a promo code I applied and the final price, with free shipping and no sales tax was $127.46 ! That code saved me $42.49. Thanks for all your great insight. I'll hopefully post a report after receiving them and wearing them for awhile as the temps here in western Pa lately have been close to the temps we see in October !

LACROOSE/MUCK are best in rubber boot ..Good decision...I use CHEAP green LACROOSE rubber boots not alpha series for phez/trapping and early archery which is warm ...I have alpha series from 7 years ago and still boot is fine BUT at 63 they are little heavy walking and my feet sweat in cold...




Soooooooooooooooooo we all went to ASOLO hiking boots if snow is not deep ,deep snow back to alphas ..But soles crack after 4 years BUT boy you can walk in those babys that is great ....Watch for sales on ASOLO i get mine at around 100 dollars or so on year old models....

I have a pair of Rocky Gamechangers. I've had them about 4 or 5 years for hunting and construction and they've held up nicely. They're good for what they are but I wouldn't recommend them below freezing.

I bought the same boot in 7mil So far I really like em! I bought em cause they replaced the old style Areohead boot in 7mm. They only lasted about 2 seasons as the inside on both boots split and boots leaked this year so bout the newer version.The 7 mil I can still be comfortable in 50 degeee weather and I trap and walk a lot in them.I also went with the 7mil as its thicker to prevent holes and my foot fits better.I don't think Lacrosse takes in to account fot the extra thickness so the 3.5 would be too big on me I think.Only thing I don't like is they are shorter now.Good choice I think you made.

For early season I like my LaCrosse boots. For late season here in Wisconsin I have a pair of 1600 gram thinsulate water proof Irish Setter boots. They are a little bulky but keep these old feet pretty warm sitting in my stand in cold conditions. When it gets extremely cold I will use Hot Shot foot warmers since I'm not moving around to keep the circulation going in my feet. If I am stalking in late season I have a pair of 800 gram thinsulate water proof Carolina leather boots. I also envy people that don't get cold feet.

I've been in the market for a new pair of rubber boots for a couple years now. I have a pair of Lacrosse Alpha Burly Sport boots that have long since been discontinued. I believe they were the first Sport versions Lacrosse released. My pair are at least a dozen years old and are still going strong. Mine look like the current 4X Burly (6.5 lbs/pair) with full camo rubber over neoprene all the way to the top, but they weight less than the current Aerohead Sport (4.8 lbs/pair). At 4 lbs a pair, I keep wearing them and looking for a replacement to come long. One of these days I'm going to eventually have to retire them, but it looks like I may have to settle for a lesser boot. Everything today is heavier and more expensive.

I like my Woody Elite Muck boots. If it gets really cold I put toasty toes on and I am good to go.
