kills per arrow ratio last season 16/17

Post by bloodtrail »

Hey Guys
I know this time of year we start going through deer season withdrawal. Thought maybe this would be a good subject to bring up at the end of season each year.
How many deer have you taken with the same bolt for 16/17 ?
I'd rather be shooting my Excalibur.

Three. Two pass throughs and one that lodged in the opposite shoulder that broke the arrow.

With a XX75 2219 Magnum, three deer and a bear. Arrow got bent with the bear.

Out of six arrows fired last season between my daughter and I, only two of them will live to hunt again. If we don't manage to hang a huge broadhead up in the far shoulder, I pass through and bounce off the rocks.

Of the two that will fly again, one was caught by a sapling and the other was buried up to the lumenock on a highly quartering away doe and took a 100 yard ride. If they hit the ground around here, they've got a less than 1 in 10 chance of reuse.
