Re: vortex xbr crossbow scope
So I spoke to the owner a couple hours ago and he said they won't ship/sell to new customers without proof of a physical address matching the billing address for the credit card. We sorted it out and number four will be home next week. Flightattendant Paul, pm me if you're actually interested in one and I'll help you out.

Re: vortex xbr crossbow scope
So this is why all of my Vortex crossbow scopes have sold in the last 2 days....I figured that there was a thread about them some place.
The reason we have been asking for extra ID as many of you are first time customers and there is a lot of fraud with internet purchases of higher end optics for first time customers.
Regarding the US customer that ordered, we're not allowed to ship Vortex optics out of Canada...it's part of our dealer agreement and doing so can get us cut off from Vortex.
I hope everyone enjoys the scope and thanks for all the orders.

On another note, the price never went up to $599, it's been $399 for almost a year.

Re: vortex xbr crossbow scope
Thanks for your help today Ryan. For those who bought this scope and haven't used an MOA (minute of angle) scope before contact me and I'll be happy to help you out. There's a bit of a learning curve but once it's explained and you make a few notes it's easy peasy.

Re: vortex xbr crossbow scope
Your ad did not say that, took my purchase, including address in U.S. Issued order number, sent me an email with a detailed invoice , where to ship etc. was included on invoice. Just saying I wouldn't be the person to get a positive endorsement from. All these good folks that bought your scopes in the last few days are my friends. Several have very generously offered to receive one of the Vortex scopes for me, but that would mean you would get the benefit of some of my money, which will not happen. When one of these friends contacted you it was credit card fraud that was the concern, now you cant ship outside Canada. Story seems to get better and better. If that is the case it should surely have been in the ad. It should surely have been caught when checking out. Again, just saying.Chemist wrote:So this is why all of my Vortex crossbow scopes have sold in the last 2 days....I figured that there was a thread about them some place.

About 8:00am yesterday, before my cancelation email, I went back to your sight to see about purchasing a second scope since it was such a great deal. Price was indeed $599.00 at that time. At least that is what pulled up on my screen.
Thanks to all my Excalibur friends for your help and kind comments, I appreciate you all. You guys are what makes this sight so great.

I use mine like any scope with a speed dial. Sighted in at 20 and turned the mag up till 30-40-50-60 were on. Took a 3.2 dial in on my 350 LE. Then I made a custom tape for the turret with same yardages by shooting it till on and marking the tape. Very simple and took about 10 minutes max to do.

Re: vortex xbr crossbow scope
You have to be happy with it and if you're happy with that, great. How do you like having the hash mark below the crosshairs labeled '10', '20', '30', '40', '50' ? .....because they aren't yardage marks, they represent minutes of angle. They actually only represent those minutes at ten power magnification. At five power magnification the shown values are doubled and at 2.5 power the values are quadrupled. I'm just curious because I do use the minutes out to 100yards and it works perfectly.robertyb wrote:I use mine like any scope with a speed dial. Re: vortex xbr crossbow scope
My first hash mark is 30 yards the second is 40, etc. I have not shot past 60 put am probably on at higher yardages. I ignore the marked numbers as each mark is 10 yards.
I can use any magnification I choose by dialing in the distance on my turret and using the center crosshair (20 yard). But I have to remember to dial it back to my original setting again and set the turret back on 20 yards before using the hash marks again. I forgot once and overshot the target.
