I got mail!!

Post by Carnivorous » Mon Feb 20, 2017 4:34 pm

:)

They sent me a bonus front extended ring. This was a nice gesture. The rear one would have been nice too..lol. I e-mailed them for the rear ring parts number..

I am truly impressed with the glass and reticle design. Can't wait to try it out...

Exciting times Jeff! :D front extender ring? Do you mean the included sunshade or did you get a front cantilevered ring?

I think you'll like it and getting the cantilevered front ring IS a nice bonus because you need the eye relief (I solved that by putting mine on an Optimizer).

I have 3 XBRs and really like them.

One thing, if you shoot close distances, like my 15-18 yd indoor range in my basement, you will see a fair amount of parallax so you need to be very consistent with your head/eye placement. (I think they are parallax adjusted to 75 yds)

Outdoors at longer range, it's not much of an issue.

Work really well on a HAA Optimizer and with a little trial and error you can dial in the MOA markings pretty good by themselves.

Vortex is now my favorite brand of scope. Quality product at a very reasonable price.
Still lovin' my EXCALIBUR MICRO 355! :-)

I mounted my XBR with regular Vortex medium rings on my Matrix 350. Works great.

Jeff, as a curiosity try taking your scope out in your back yard in the dark and have a look through it. Yes, in the dark. I'm curious to hear your thoughts.

Jeff, when you start using the scope, you'll be looking for another one. I stopped myself at 2! :D
