limb noise

Post by carol »

Just got a micro 335 while cocking noticed sharp crack which sounded like limbs cracking. Just wondering if anybody has the same issue. No splits in limbs just minor lines in limbs and still shoots fine.
Emailed excalibur and they are going to check the limbs out thanks to Dawn.
just wondering if there is a problem as I have read about other limb issues on this crossbow.
Thanks

That's not a good sound! The only thing that I can think of is there may be a loose bolt on it somewhere, allowing movement and noise. It's not uncommon to find that a bolt or two needs tightening from time to time. They'll get it figured out and take care of you!
Still lovin' my EXCALIBUR MICRO 355! :-)

I don't own a micro, but my bows don't make noise when I cock them. I do!

The fine lines are from the molding process and are normal. Can't say as to what your issue may be if there is one but it sounds like you already have the most experienced ppl looking into it for ya.

The can, especially if you use a cranking aid. I have no idea what makes that noise. It's a sharp tick when the limbs are more than half loaded.
You should do a complete nut and bolt check on your bow, just in case.

Mine does that too Don. It is one of the string loops slipping off another as you crank. About freaked me out until I found what was causing it. It almost sounds like a limb going and happens at the same spot ever time.

My 335 did it and found a large 8 inch sliver 1/8 inch deep on inside of the left limb ...
