Congrats Carl. Are you all done with your tags, or can you shoot more deer? Looking forward to seeing your pictures.

My first day comes this Saturday, and holidays after that.

Way to go Carl!!!!! Sounds like you had to stick it out in pretty bad weather to get your reward. Good for you. Weather like that would have sent a lot of men home. Good perseverence you've got there Carl.

Now, relax, tell the story to all who'll listen, and enjoy the steaks.

Congratulations.

Thanks all for your kind words of congratulations and recognition. This was my first x-bow buck. I did my homework and tagged the deer I've been watching for two weeks before open season.

The buck is hanging, hide on, packed with ice and will be cut in a couple of days. The weather is cool, dropping down to the upper 20s F tonight.
And yup, the wood stove is fired up and 4 cords have been put up for the long cold winter.

Grey Owl,
I still have a antlerles tag to fill now, or in the late archery season in Dec. which follows rifles season and runs concurrently with the MZ season.

Thanks again, and good hunting and eating to all. 8)

ttt

I've posted a pic of the buck and my fugly mug on the (now edited) original post. Pic was taken at my local pro shop.
I've been entering the buck pool there for years, but failed to this year. Go figure. I would be in first place for a $500 shopping spree if I had joined.
