Post by schott »

when installing a ADF on my 350SE should I use blue loc tite, and does the ADF come with new screws or do I have to use the old ones which I was able to remove without damaging them

Havin a little trouble remembering , but pretty sure it came with screws (since I have a baggy with the original scope mount and screws in it). Believe I blue loc-tited it. I do remember it was an easy installation. Good luck. Sure others will chime in with better info.

You can use either blue loctite or clear fingernail polish. I prefer the fingernail polish on those little screws cause it makes them easier to remove later without stripping them out.

Mine came with new screws, I use the purple loctite for small screws.

Mine also came with new screws. I use the pink Loctite #222MS for screws 1/4" and smaller.

Dan Miller told me to use blue loc tite so that's what I'm using. If you have clear nail polish just use it and don't worry.

Brownells has bit set that is great for removing screws.the bits are square and you will not strip the screws as much...
