I just picked up this Wolverine crossbow. My first bow was a Phoenix so I am not too familiar with these older models. Can anyone help me with the specs on this? Was curious about the speed, draw weight and even the year this xbow was made.
Thanks

Re: Help with an older Excalibur
It looks like the limbs have been replaced . The original ones had silkscreen name on them .
I am going to say made between 1990 and 92 .
Poundage was around 150 pounds . Used a Dacron string because of the carved tips . Would do around 225 to 250 depending on the arrow combination used .

Although it will kill deer all day long, it really belongs on the wall.
Some people just like stepping on rakes

Limbs aren't what they are now and are very hard to replace if broken.

Sure can. I have a Wolverine and put on mag tips and it shoots beautifully.Ekkie wrote:Could you put mag-tip limbs on it?

Re: Help with an older Excalibur
I had an old wolverine a couple years ago with the auto engage safety. Was in tree stand playing around with my safety and the bow shot off. Arrow jammed into wooden treestand and jolted scope into other end. Excalibur absolutely refuse me to pay for a new scope even though I explained it was my own fault. They said they would like to see my bow as some of the older auto triggers were wearing down over all the years of constant shooting. They reworked my trigger. Again they flat out refused any money as I stood their with my wallet out wanting to pay something for all they did for me. I do not know what they did to my trigger as I did not ask them.
Guess my message is be careful and I would get it professionally checked out even if it costs you money to do if you plan on shooting and hunting with it.
I had mag tip limbs on it Limbs were added after the treestand incident. I since sold it to fund a newer model backup Excailbur in the poundage I wanted.
CHEERS!

Re: Help with an older Excalibur
I just picked up a set of mag limbs and a new Flemish Dyna string for my Wolverine. I haven't shot it yet with the new equipment, but I have retired the original Wolverine limbs.
Picture with old limbs.
Hoping to get out Turkey hunting with it soon.
