Putting new limbs on a micro?

Post by Timmypo1 »

New limbs are in the mail for my Micro 355, should be here tomorrow. What's the process for putting them back on? Which bolts get tightened first? Main bolt first, then tighten the two smaller bolts with the cross bracket till snug? Thanks!

The recoil brackets that you call cross brackets will not touch the limbs so install the main bolt first. Use blue loctite on all limb bolts.

Two things to add, just use a very small amount of Loctite because removal may be difficult later on if too much is used, and second remove the old residual Loctite and chase the threads if you have a tap.

And don't forget to install the plastic "gasket" that goes between the limb and riser...

Put the new limbs back on without a problem. Was a bit surprised, but I didn't have to adjust my scope at all. Still spot on out to 30 yards. Thanks for the help!

Thats the cool thing about Excals. Twist the strings to the original brace height and your good to go without having to resight the scope.
