Micro suppressor vs micro 355 vs 335

Post by Ragumup »

In a dilemma as to which to buy ... Would say size is my first priority followed by speed then colour & price I like the black 335 but it's to slow ,like the 355 but it's long remember size is top priority, ,suppressor fits the bill but hate the look of the stock ( plus most of rubber would be in the bin ) and the price is painful! .... ☹️ Opinions welcome cheers

I would invest in your first priority and stick to it.

Size the Micro 355 can't be 1/2" longer than the 335. Suppressor is the fancy micro 355 wid the damper gear on it. The draw wt. my 335 is is in the 280's my 355 is knockin 315 n strickly a C2 model fer me

If I had to do all over again and money was not an issue. I would buy the Micro
Suppressor . But then again I love the 335. It's Amazing. Very accurate. And I hunt in the Pennsylvania woods. So Speed is not an issue. I Paid $ 753.00 so I did get a deal. Looking at other bows in that range . I did well

well, if size is ur concern you have to get a micro... here's my .02: if ur gonna ditch the suppression, why pay for the suppressor? if the 335 is too slow, that leaves the 355 which is 1" longer than the 335. is that 1" a deal breaker? if not, get the 355. if it is, get the 335.

watched a canadian hunting show last week. guy shot a nice black bear with a 355. didn't go far. his wife shot one with a 335. same result. any of the 3 bows ur looking at will get the job done (although i guess i'm shooting a sally bow  ).

Just curious as to why you think the 335 is too slow? Took the bison in my avatar with my 335. If you are shorter you should consider draw weight (unless you will use a crank). If taller then that probably won't be much of an issue. Any bow you choose will perform great so there is really no bad choice.

Thanks for all the replies... the 355's one inch longer wouldn't be a deal breaker but it's is ,because the 335 is already 1inch longer so it's now 2 inch when compared to the suppressor at 31inch ,the 355 micro is then only 2/3 inch shorter than the 355/380 matrix if that make sense... the 335 is already to slow as I just like a flatter trajectory. I would ditch most of the suppresson but not all I quite like the foot stirrup and raves. Really need Excalibur to have a "make your own bow " service...

When I was younger I asked an older bow hunter if I should buy a faster bow. He said "no just work on your hunting skills and get as close to your quarry as possible and ensure your shot placement is perfect". I consider my Micro 315 to be overkill..lol

This negates the need for speed..:)

I'd say this will end up bein a real hard personal choice. Dependin on the arrow weight yer usin as to how fast or slow yer fps is. I have a Micro Nitemare 335 n shootin 353gr arrows mine gets 344 fps. That 4-5 fps faster than my micro 355 gets usin the 400gr arrow it shoots. Now my 335 falls to 312-315 fps usin a 400gr arrow

As Vixen said it's a personal choice and you will know in a few months if you made the wrong one. Or you'll know what you want next. It will never be perfect.

You never mentioned pull weight. If that doesn't bother you consider the Suppressor. You can pull the rubbers off and have your own baby. ( I made that one up myself. :) ) I have the Micro 315 and Suppressor. Shooting the 315 with 350 grains is flatter out to about 30 yds where the Suppressor shooting 400 is flatter out to 50 and hits harder. The 315 is about 1/2 wider than the suppressor. I like them both. Personal choice. If you go to the dealer page there are a couple vendors that will make up a package from a bare bow.

You guys really know what your talking about.
Arrow weight is 415grain would like it to shoot 344fps but looking at vixens numbers it will fall short probably around 336fps I'd imagine?
I can manage 260lb but run out of height (even with rope cocker shortened) so 10 inch power stroke will be better and when I get older the c2 will be the way to go ,besides I only shoot one or two arrows per day unless Iv changed/tinkered with arrows/scope or something.

Almost ordered a bow yesterday but thought I'd wait so see if anyone else "chips in" ...thanks in advance.

My ideal bow would be the nightmare stock with 355 riser & rail & realtree limbs ,overall length 31 inch with rubberised stirrup, hold down spring & ravs & Drstirrup bumpers, and without the scope as I already have a tact-zone ...

My matrix 355 works very well in the woods and thickets of the mountains of East Tn, USA and popup blinds (why anyone wants to put 3pple n bows in a 3ppl popup blind I don't know, its like having a 8person tent and "REALLY" trying to sleep 8ppl and their gear....right). Plenty of speed/accurate/quiet enough right out of the box. I vote Matrix 355 package or bare and you equip. OH and 18-20in BEE.
Open hunting on the ground stalk and shoot or sit and wait...I still go with the Matrix 355. Reliable, fast, quiet, easy.

Too many choices nowadays ( and marketing hype for that matter). As others have pointed out, hunting skills are what's needed most. Killed plenty of deer with an old PSE strato flight express that was all of about 180 fps with a 140 grain broadhead. If bow length was my no.1 priority, then I'd buy the bow that fit my needs then learn to use it to it's full capabilities.
