zombie slayers vs. executioners

Post by grouse »

In an earlier post, I mentioned that I asked my wife to get me some Black Eagle Zombie Slayers for my new 350 SE as a Fathers Day present. Sunday morning she presented me with -6- 18" Black Eagle Executioners. The order form from Horizontal Archery only says Black Eagle arrows, it doesn't have the two types listed separately. The note I gave my wife stipulated Black Eagle Zombies and she wouldn't know that Executioners exist. I have tried to call Danny Miller several times this week but he has been out each time.

I'm inclined to think that it really won't matter and keep the Executioners. There is a slight weight difference and the Zombies are stiffer, but I don't think either difference will be of any consequence when it comes down to hunting. What would you do?

.....shoot away, I do not believe the deer will mind...I have shot and continue to shoot both ZS and Exec....and at normal hunting distances I do not believe there is any difference to be had!

I can't tell the difference between them out to 40 yards with my 350 LE. Shoot away. :)

With the 350, it shouldn't make any difference. With a 405 and 220g+ on the front, it would make a difference, especially as the range lengthens.

X2, I have seen no difference in the 330 or 350 Matrix, in the heavier draw bows, including the 335 Micro, the Zombies are the way to go. As far as weight they are bot the same weight per inch but the heavy pounders need the stiffer Zombie shaft, under 250 pound draw weight I would use the executioners or zombies either on and never see any difference.

I shot Executioners from my Matrix 380 with fine results out to 75 - 80 yards for a couple years. I did eventually move into Zombie Slayers for that bow, and they tightened up the groups at all ranges just a little, as well as extending accurate groupings out to 100 yards.

If you're planning to keep the range practice within 75 or so yards, and chiefly hunt with them, I'd suggest hanging onto the ones you have and starting the practice shoots!

Enjoy! :D

i just picked up 6 BEE's from their website for $19.50 (& no, not the pink ones!)- that's a lot cheaper than the zombies ($52.00). i only shoot out to 40yd so it was a no brainer for me.

I'm convinced, I'll keep the Executioners without any worries. Thanks to all for the info.
