They are not really gone and it has nothing to do with them charging and 3rd party hosting. The free accounts have nothing to do with this. I thought mine were gone also but they showed back up. I think I had to sign out and back in a couple of times before they did but everything is back to normal again.

To be honest, that's why I hardly ever post a pic here...Just to much involved in getting it on the site..
The other two sites I frequent are a breeze to load pics on....

After my frustration with Photobucket and the inordinate number of fly-in and pop-up ads that constantly blocked the screen and interrupted what I was doing and then reading this thread, I downloaded all my images to a folder on my home computer and deleted my account. I don't see how Photobucket will last with their current business model and the amount of cheap or free competition.

....nobody likes to pay, for sure!....Just remember, just about everything that happens in society has a profit motive of some sought attached to it. I guess PB,after giving their site away for free, tried and hoped people would click and pay for other 3rd party vendor services so that they(-PB) could make a profit....now they are moving to a new platform and gonna charge us....It is up to us to decide to say, "chuck fou yarlie!" and leave or just bite the bullet and add yet another of the, "It's only $7.99/mo" services to our monthly expenses!

Anthony :)

PS: They (PB) have yet to contact me...I guess it was because Cousin Vinnie 8) gave them a call last week and discussed a few things!

Y'all really need to read the other thread on here as we have already been through this. They are not charging anyone anything unless you need to upgrade your FREE account which holds several thousand pictures.
Sorry you deleted all your pics for no reason Mike but at least you were able to access them again or you could not have deleted them.
