Stress lines or cracks?

Post by seabee401 »

So I just got my new Matrix 330 yesterday. Was put together in front of me from an unopened box. I test fired two bolts with the bow tech who put it together. Everything seemed normal. This is my fourth Excalibur so I didn't scrutinize it as I know them very well. Today I noticed what may or may not be stress lines or cracks running horizontal on the left limb very slight on the right limb also. I can feel them with my finger . and also see lines. They are covered with the factory camo paint. Not sure if anyone has come across this before. Not sure if I should get it checked out. :?: :|

pictures would be nice, but my guess is they are just cosmetic flaws which are common.

X3 probably cosmetic; mine recently came back from a limb job with some pretty deep horizontal lines in it . Seems to be the norm now with the limbs. It shoots great so far with no splintering . good luck

Like said above, probably cosmetic. Run a cotton ball all over the limbs while cocked. No snags=no problems.

Yes, those are cosmetic flaws that aren't really flaws. lol
Flow lines like that are common in the material used and do nothing except add character.

I may be wrong as I am not a chemist or engineer, but the way the fibres are layed for maximum strength it would be impossible to have smooth flawless limbs without them splintering. Being interwoven like that you would weaken limbs if you abraded one single bundle. Pressed, cooked, and camo'd is the ticket.
Cheers,
Hank
