Nikon bolt.zero at 27 or 30 yard and forget about the circles. Shoot at 20,25,30,35 and you'll know what it's doing. Chances are the deer is going to come out and you won't know exactly how far away it is anyway.

I mean let's be honest here ... You could throw a tennis ball that far.

Pretty much what I think. I will zero at 20 to 30 yds and then check where circles end up and what 10 and 15 yds do. May adjust where the zero is from there. A lot more likely to get a 10 yd shot than a 35 for me... and never shoot 40 yds at game.
Those extra circles are just for target and fun practice. That's why the variables that you adjust for speed are not useful for me.

I zerod my micro at 30 yards with a 390grn arrow. Shooting a 3" circle. At 20 yards it hits the top of the circle and at 35 yards it hits the bottom of the circle.
I marked my trees at the max distance, anything under within use center crosshairs. No time to worry or think about the circles or chevrons

Just got back in from a good little workout with the Micro 355. This old man was surprised to do 55 shots without any pain - yet. :? Would have done a lot more if the deer flies weren't so fierce.
I zeroed at 20 yds and the first 2 circles were dead on at 30 and 40 yds so a nice 10 yd gap. Got strange after that, third circle was dead on at 55 yds and I didn't check the last circle yet. So far, so good, love the scope. :D :D :D
Next time out I'll change the zero to 25 and 30 yds and see how that works for me. Sure that the 10 yd gapping will be constant and just worried about the short shots.
