BD 380

Post by vaXbow »

I have handled a BD 400 but can't find one locally to look at. The cocking effort of the Suppressor took some of the steam out of the Micro 355. Can I assume the same for the 380? I'm back and forth between that or a Micro Raid

Yes the BD380 will be less effort to cock n slower than the BD400. It will be faster than a Micro 355 n abit more weight

As mentioned, the Bulldog (260 lbs) is slightly easier to cock than the Micro (280 lbs).

From another thread:

Though I haven't taken it out or even sighted it in yet, I did get to try it at the dealer's indoor range to get a feel for it. When I walked into the store, my intention was to buy the Micro 355. But after trying both, the Bulldog felt more balanced. I suppose that the advantage of the bullpup stock design. If I had a few hundred dollars more to spend, I might have sprung for the Micro Suppressor, which has a bullpup stock, but I wanted to save those dollars for other stuff. The adjustable quiver is also a nice touch. Can't wait to get it sighted in and start practising!

I think there is a parallel between a Matrix series and Micro or BD vs Supressor like between a rifle and a carbine. Crossbow development is split between faster and smaller. The larger xbows tend to be more accurate at longer ranges. The smaller xbows aim at being more user friendly.
The intended usage should be considered when making a selection of which to get.
