Delima

Post by elkaholic »

I got my Exo out to practice a little after install of suppressors S5.

twisted my string to appropriate 3/16ths

I bought a used/ like new yellow jacket square block type target

first shot at 30 yrds using the peep center dot sight -

nearly dead center-great shot

delima

it sunk the bolt right to the fletching and I can't pull it out! lol

I guess I need a new target - my compression straw bale -- is kinda the same problem -bolts sink deep and real hard to get out

Any suggstions for a good easy to remove bolts target

If you have aluminum nock on the stuck one just screw another field point into back end and grab the point with vice grips. Then get a new target.

Dig enough material away from your target to expose the nock and remove.
Danny Miller arra puller's are very popular because they work very well.

An arrow puller won't do you much good until you remove the decals with acetone. I forced a Zombie out of my foam target and there was so much foam fused to the shaft that I had to scrape it off with a knife.

Best solution is to make yourself a rag bag target from old clothes stuffed into a feed bag etc....there is a GREAT idea pictured here on the forum of a garbage can, packed with rags and laid on its side.

Saves some money and works better than anything on the market.

As for a new target, the targets used at Boofest were well received. I do not remember the name, but others should be able to chime in.

Whatever is after the fletchings is enough for Danny's puller to get it out.
The cheapest good targe is the Thirdhand Rag Bag. After that it would be the Bulldog and then the Spyderweb.

Instead of pulling the arrow back out ruining the fletching, push the arrow completely through the target. The fletching will come out better than pulling it backwards.

Go to Kmart or farm & fleet...
Buy yourself a 30.00 - 40.00 Buck Stop or Yellow Jacket Target.= basically a rag target. You will be able to pull your arrows out with 2 fingers. ;)

I shoot Morrell bag targets ands they last for years for me.

I did the same with the same target not long ago. I took a can of WD40 and put the little red straw in it and shoved it down beside the shaft and sprayed while pulling the straw back out. Did this in 2 or 3 places around the shaft and waited a few minutes grabbed the shaft/fletchings in my hand and the arrow slid right out.

This is target I am using for field points:

thanks for all the replys- my ole rag bag was just about completely shot out- cover was flaking off . I chucked it - wish now i'd of just restuffed it in a new cover - oh well

had the new yellow jacket - figured I didn't need it anymore

its not possible to push thru either -I may try the wd thing

I'll likely end up with a rag one agin and use yellow jacket as the backstop

The foam type yellow jacket is a broadhead target. Not meant for field points.

My targets if the arrow is sunk I push it through . I also practice with a practice broad head one with no sharp edge on the blades I only use field points when I first sight the crossbow in . So the yellow jacket target won't do right now I am using Block Black Crossbow target and I still have pass throughs but I can still use the broad head .
