Stringer

Post by bigbowman »

I bought a stringer aid off of fleabay for $30.00 and the package said Excalibur but I now know it was NOT!!! After adjusting the rope to the correct length, I was able to get my 1st string off. I sat the bow aside and was getting my new string ready when the stringer aid let go! Broke right in the middle of the stringer and scared the heck out of me! Anyways .... what kind of string do I need to replace the broken string? I want one that won't stretch to the point of fraying or snapping? Will a rope from another rope cocker work? Any tips will be greatly appreciated!

The only stringing aid I will use is the one Danny Miller makes.

Get a slave stringer from VixenMaster.

Then follow the instructions on how to use it, you'll never go back.

I made mine out of 1700 lb test 4 mm rope from a Marine hardware store. It is Dynema and Kevlar and was less than $1/ft. Watched a YouTube video on Excalibur stringing aides and made it in 5 mins with 5 knots. I bought 10 feet and had plenty left to restring my cocking aid and still have enough for another round...I have used it a dozen times or more working with 4 strings to get them broken in.
