FLIR One Test

Post by DuckHunt »

This morning I got a chance to play with my FLIR One when recovering a doe my daughter shot. It really wasn't necessary because it was a good hit and there was plenty of sign. But I really wanted to see how helpful it could be.

Due to falling rain, temp differences of the blood was next to nothing. But, I can certainly see how it would help find a deer in thick cover.
Can you pick out the deer in this photo? She's in there just right of the tree. Would you see her if her back was facing you?

Here she is using a FLIR One.

Once the temps start to cool down some, I suspect the ability to locate game will get even better. Where I think this will be most useful to me is at night. You literally can walk right past a deer in thick cover at night and not see it.
