Looking to update my scope

Thank you for all of your suggestions. I decided to go with the Hawke XB30 Pro SR. I went to local shop that had one and really liked it. Hoping to take a nice Buck with it. A friend and I are headed to Main Frame Outfitters Of Ohio. There opening day is the 30th. Check out there the site on Facebook. I will give a report after the hunt. I recently bought the Hawke XB30 Pro, and I'm not liking it as much as I thought would. Cluttered reticle is beyond annoying and it is the hardest scope I have ever seen to get behind. It's almost impossible for my to get a full picture in it without moving my head all around. I tried the Hawke rings (high's) that Wyvernn sent with it, and now have Leupold PRW lows. Neither one is acceptable to me. Honestly, I don't think the low light capabilities are great either.

Pretty disappointed in it to be honest with you.

Would rather have a Leupold VXR 2-7 with a 50 yard parallax installed.

I recently bought an Excalibur Twlight DLX scope. Only had it for about week or so but been shooting with it almost every day. I really like it so far but time in the field will be the real test.

It gathers a lot of light and is very clear as well.

XB30 Pro SR is what I have and like it quite a bit. I like a lighted reticle and with the infinite adjustment on this I can turn it on just enough in early dawn or late evening so I don't get blinded when it's time to use it. But then I can turn it full on in midday to target shoot and actually see a reticle against my black Rinehart target. Glass is WAY improved over the XB1 on my older Vortex bow, and is good enough for me to see as early as I can shoot and as late too. And I'm usually sitting in pine forest so it's pretty dark in there at the edges of legal light.

Leupold is KING! You can watch on line and buy a VX-I 1-4x20 shotgun scope w/heavy duplex for less than 2 bills delivered to your door. Also in a Leupold, don't be afraid to buy a good clean used scope. They are warrantied for life to whom ever . You will love the difference.

I have a VXII 1-4x20 with the regular duplex and it has worked fine for me. Most "crossbow" scopes lasted less than one year before they failed to hold POI.

Never tried a Hawke on the crossbow, but I did buy a Hawke 2-7x32 airgun scope for my Benjamin Discovery and never was pleased with it. Too much lens reflection in dim light (would see more of me and the shadows behind me than the target when I looked through the scope), and the reticle was not that sharp. I replaced it with a cheap BSA air rifle scope, and stuck the Hawke on an RWS 48 (scope eater due to heavy bi-directional recoil) to see how well it would hold up. It lasted about 10 shots before it started stringing shots vertically.

Hey guys I have been hunting with the Hawke XB Pro and so far I like it. I did take a Doe with it mounted on my Micro. So far no complaints. I had a few other guys look through it and shot a couple arrows and they liked it and are thinking about getting one. The season is young yet will let you know after the season how it performed for me.

Nikon Bolt for me. Its the best I can use. With astigmatism, often the reticle becomes patchy at best. Leopold are the worst, Bushnell absolutely useless. BURRIS is the only scope I have on every rifle I own, reticle is perfect every time. But they don't have anything small.

Tough call, scopes are so personal. You really have to look through them
