I shoot 17 and 18" out of mine. I prefer the 17" though.

I am shooting 18", both the stock Diablos and then some customer Double Eagle Executioners from Wyvern. The Diablos are about 400 gr with a 150 gr field point and the Executioners are 409. Both seem equally accurate. I would tell you Wyvern, as the person above is doing, suggested 20" bolts for these bigger/faster Matrix models for accuracy. I am pretty happy right now, but I just might try that next time as well. I actually have some 20" bolts from a previous crossbow I might give a try to.

I hang my 355, and 330 from a bow hanger while stand hunting. That for me was the reason to cut them shorter. I use fixed heads, and I have about an inch inside the end of the stirrup so i don't bang my hook when I grab the bow to shoot. I made sure even with the shortest heads I use that I cannot get my foot in under the loaded bow! This is the number one thing to be concerned with in my opinion.

Good Luck with your new bow!

Won't the 20 inch arrows with broadhead stick out past the foot sturip??
I prefer my broadheads to sit just inside the sturip, that way if I'm hunting in a blind I can rest the bow stirrup down and keep the Brodhead out of the dirt and if I forget to remove an arrow after hunting I simply kick it out.
As for the 20" being more accurate than 18" I'm not sure there's much difference at the maximum distance 90% of us shoot at.
