Crossbow bolt repairs : life hack

Post by vpsaline »

You can improvise a rear nock for a crossbow bolt out of a .22 Magnum cartridge casing (it has a flat base and it's made from brass)!

The ID of a typical quill or Bee is .3015 and .300 respectively. And the OD of a 22mag case is .242. base is .29something. Not sure about a fired case.
But either way, it ain't gonna stay where you put it

I just tried this on some Excal firebolts and some 2219 alum shafts and the .22 Mag caseing is to small it slides into the shaft.

i would try the plastic bag trick or some hot glue if your in real need to make it work.also i would be concerned of the weight of the all brass 22 mag case.
