FOUND MY DOE!!

Post by deerslayr »

I couldn’t believe it she was laying not more than five yards from where I looked last night. Either I missed her or she walked in later. My shot wasn’t as good as I had hoped, entered just behind her ribs and passed through both lungs and right shoulder and I could not find the bolt. This EXOMAG is 100% pure power! I did nick an intestine, very little contamination; believe me I have seen much worse. She was still steaming when I cut her open about 8:30. So factoring in shot placement and losing her I would have to give this hunt a B+. She was a big doe too, usually I can grab a doe by the scruff of the neck and butt and toss them into the truck, this one I had to use the wench. Anyway she is hanging in the garage and the tender loins are soaking in the sink waiting to go on the grill to night. Got to get to work.
If you can't take a good shot, don't take a shot.

CONGRATULATIONS!!

She must have been dead last night if you got within 5 feet of her.

Au contrare.. it sounds like a perfect shot to me. Taking out both lungs is what we want to do.. It does sound like she might have been at a little more of an angle than you thought..
