There is a Mennonite store 3 miles from me. I will have to pick up some almond and vanilla extract there since the wife doesn't want me to use all of hers for baking.
Maple syrup I have plenty of... I buy a gallon of the real stuff every spring from a local Mennonite.
He has light, amber, or dark. I generally buy the amber stuff as I think it tastes better.
Just do like I do and use hers. When she asks where it went answer with, "Really? What would I do with vanilla & almond extract?"
On second thought, I think I'll head over to the Amish bulk food store. Not feeling all that brave today, and I can pick up some Amish cheese while I'm there.

I tried the scent last night but I had a wrong wind for it. No deer, but it smelled good.

Does it draw bears? We have so many bears here in NC and those black devils keep chewing up and tearing up stands would hate to use something that would draw them.

I would give it a go but it is illegal here in Mass for both deer and bear.

Our baiting laws are pretty broad:

"BAITING OF DEER is prohibited during any deer season and any bait made available to deer must be removed 10 days prior to the opening of the first day of archery deer season. Bait includes any natural or artificial substance which may be ingested that is used to entice deer."

Honey burns for bear are also prohibited under the same regulation.

Whipped this up today, going to secure it to a t-post in a couple hours and see if I can set up a constant vanilla killer drip. Holds an upside down bottle of vanilla killer and drips with the pressure changes over night. I used a sawn board to catch and hold the fluid.
Well... Back to work

Something better show up, got two soakers in my good workbooks putting that out today!
Not too worried if they lick it of not, I was hoping it gave a longer lasting scent delivery method.

Don't handle your trail cameras if you get it on your hands!! You'll find them knocked around on the tree.

Hi, I plan on making some of this stuff. Do you have to use the pure vanilla and almond extract? I was at Costco last night and a Costco sized bottle of pure vanilla was $26. Haven't checked at our local Amish stores yet.
