A well deserved congratulations indeed! Simply awesome! I must admit, of all the game animals I've eaten moose is hands down my favorite. I even prefer it over elk. Great job! :D

This is the largest of the two bulls we took on our archery moose hunt this year. This one was taken with 380 Matrix using BE 18" shafts with G5 Striker head. Double lung hit at 20 yrds - recovered within 80 yrds. He had been fighting with another bull and we had them both come in the morning prior but the bigger bull did not give me a shot at 12 yrds! This guy was all beaten up and bruised from head to toe. You can see the tine entrance wound on his lower front shoulder. He had another hole in his nose as well. I've never seen one this beat up. An old warrior for sure. His neck was swelled up as big as it could get.
Its one of the greatest times to have you pic taken. Because 2 seconds after the camera goes away, you look down and go ... Crap, this is going to be a ton of work now LOL

My buddy Angelo took the big bull using my 380. There were two of us calling on this one and I made the final calls that closed the deal. It takes us about two hours total to skin, quarter, bag and then paddle out the meat to our pilot that picks it up. We call him when moose is downed and arrange pickup time and location. On this one the plane arrived 5 minutes prior to us at meeting spot. We never have to worry about meat spoilage regardless of temp.
