Nice deer. Too bad on the yotes. Have to get after them at some point now for revenge. I can't believe that shot didn't anchor him. I know its not politically correct, but you gotta do what works for you. My wife's uncle in WV, a deaf mute, shoots them in the head with his xbow. He killed 4 last year that way, and all drt. He shows us that he has done it for years. Whatever works!

Great buck. I have taken that shot countless times when hunting on the ground. Most times it enters and hits the spine and they drop. If not the jugular is hit and the blood trail is ridiculous!!

But never aim for the brisket.
A touch of frost has heightened your awareness and your heart steadily beats in anticipation. Your senses are suddenly alert to the movement on the forest floor and you realize that the moment of truth is at hand.

Congrats on yer nice Buck, to bad the nasty Yotes beat you to him. Once those yotes get thick in an area they will eat yer deer up before the Sun rises. One of the reasons i have blood trailin pups to help an old man that has poor eye sight

Congrats, perhaps take up varmint hunting in the off season to control numbers. I live in the center of the city and at noon two weeks ago I found a coyote sleeping in my backyard.

I hate coyotes!! The Game Warden told me they kill a lot of fawns so I shoot every coyote I see. No mercy!!

nice buck- write up

I always carry roll TP in pack I ALWAYS lay little pieces were ever I find blood spots on a blood trail that gets difficult to follow either on the ground or in a tree . really helps when I get off track- easy to look back see line of travel and pick up next blood.

doesn't help much when blood runs out makes it easier to find way out sometimes too in deep swampy stuff
